FDIME Announces the Availability of Research Grants
FDIME Announces the Availability of Research Grants
At the EFIM Congress in Athens we announced the availability of Research Grants (up to 20,000 Euros each) to provide an opportunity for 3 young internists to undertake Research in Rare Diseases in Adults, preferably in a European country outside their country of residence. The funding is intended to support their living expenses whilst they carry out their studies away from their home country.
I am writing to let you know that 3 Research Grants are still available. We have extended the age limit to 38 years and issued a new deadline of 31.05.2012 to receive completed applications and supporting documents.
Enclosed you will find the Announcement, and we ask you to advertise this to potential candidates, perhaps via your Society website.
Applicants are required to find a Research Project in another country, and this has presented some difficulties. We therefore ask for your help in sending us the name of a Research Institute in your country that plans to commence a Rare Disease Project later this year. Our aim is to obtain a list of available projects together with the name and e-mail address of the Chief of the Research Department. This would enable us to pass the information on to potential candidates who could choose a topic and country in which to undertake their research.
FDIME is committed to promoting the education of doctors, and the offer of these Research Grants provides an excellent opportunity for anyone interested to study Rare Diseases and to spend some time in another country.
If you are able to help either by nominating candidates or by giving us details of Rare Disease Research Projects in your country, please contact Janet Stevens, FDIME Administrator e-mail:
